Backyard “Birding” With The Tamron 200-500mm
Equipment: Tamron 200-500mm lens, Feisol CT-3372 tripod, Wimberley head and the Canon 5D Mark III. We were expecting the Tamron 200-500mm to perform well but it definitely exceeded our expectations … it is a very sharp lens. Focusing is slightly slower than the Canon 500mm f4.0 – but at almost $10,000 less, it’s a super buy. The lightweight, rock solid Feisol tripod helped get tack-sharp images … and the Wimberely head made tracking the birds smooth and fast. Top it off with the high ISO image quality of the Canon 5D Mark III and you’ve got the perfect package!
